More about Hotslings Pouches

hotslings kangaroo carry Pouches are the most simple baby carrier that we sell. You can carry your baby reclining (newborn), facing in, on your hip, and forward facing (2-8 months).

However, they must be sized to the individual. There are some adjustable pouches on the market, but they are not as comfortable as the non-adjustable pouch.

hotslings newborn baby sling You can carry a newborn through toddler in your pouch style baby sling, but we prefer wraps and ring slings for newborns because the newborn must be carried in a cradle (laying down) position in the pouch. This is fine for some babies, but many babies like to be upright. It is difficult to get the pouch tight enough to hold a newborn in an upright position.

hotslings shoulder flip When using a pouch, you will put your baby in and then do a "shoulder flip" to bring the baby in closer. This effectively shortens the top rail.

This is sufficient for most people when used in a cradle or hip carry. For tummy-to-tummy, you may be more comfortable with the additional adjustability of a ring sling.

We do not currently carry adjustable pouches. We have found that a properly sized non-adjustable pouch is simply more comfortable. Also adjustable pouches do not allow you to do the shoulder flip.
